What is an SEIS pitch deck?
An SEIS pitch deck is the slide structure UK founders use to raise up to £250,000 under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme. It frames the company so SEIS-eligible angel investors can see the qualifying trade, gross assets under £350,000, fewer than 25 employees, and a real growth-investment story.
How many slides should an SEIS deck have?
Twelve slides is the working norm at the UK seed stage. The template covers problem, solution, market, traction, business model, team, SEIS qualifying signals, use of funds, and the ask. Anything over fifteen slides reads as a Series A pitch.
What is the SEIS qualifying trade slide?
A slide that explicitly states company age (under 3 years), gross assets (under £350k), employee count (under 25), and the trading activity. Avoid red-flag activities (financial services, property development). SEIS advance assurance from HMRC is mentioned here if obtained.
Do I need SEIS advance assurance before sending the deck?
Not required, but strongly recommended. Most UK seed angels filter by 'advance assurance obtained' to avoid post-investment SEIS rejection risk. Apply via gov.uk. Cite the assurance reference in the deck.
